Here’s a Big Secret: Stress is a Choice!
You know, I’ve trained myself to quit asking the questions I’ve always asked myself this time of year as Christmas nears and messages of the child birth are all over the pulpits, in the movies, on the mantel. It used to trouble me that all the things that didn’t make sense in my head about Christ’s immaculate conception and birth didn’t make sense in my head. But once I understood that there are just things I will never understand, I was able to feel the truth of God’s coming, of his presence with us in the flesh — and I was able to feel it from my heart.
Now, when my head starts the questions spinning, I let my heart win the discussion — I let faith kick in.
This is how I’m learning to handle stress. See, there was so much more at stake in Jesus’s time, and even 100 years ago. Never before have people been insured such safety, health, and security. So why are we all so stressed today?
Here’s another secret: stress is a prayer — it’s a mantra! When we keep telling ourselves we’re stressed, we worry our cells.
“Every cell in your body is eavesdropping on your thoughts.”
Peace… it’s right now and it’s available! This holiday season, remind yourself of the miracle of the child birth that brought God to US because we were having such a hard time going to God. And then remind yourself that right now, you’re good. Train yourself to let go of the things you can’t change in this moment. And then you’ll have the clarity of mind to handle everything that can be controlled or improved or managed.
May the Peace of the Season be with you, and may you move wellness and success into the year ahead. 🙂
